Product Details

A rear door shower should feel like a shower, not a performance. The SV C-Shaped Rear Door Shower Curtain gives you real privacy at the back of the van and keeps the water where it belongs.

We started out with a standard flat curtain and tested it ourselves before selling it. Two problems showed up fast. First, our vans sit tall. Lifted, all-wheel drive Sprinters on big tires put you up high, and a flat curtain leaves both sides of the door opening wide open. Second, the spray went everywhere: across the wall panels, onto the doors, and into the gear bags hanging on them. Vinyl panels wipe clean, but wood, fabric door trims, and stored gear don't love a daily soaking.

So we shelved the flat curtain and redesigned it. The C-shape wraps the sides and the front of the rear door area, so nobody sees in from the side and the doors and anything mounted on them stay out of the spray. Large felt-backed magnets click onto the door without scratching it, a row of smaller magnets runs down the door edge to close the gaps, and interior attachment points on both sides finish the seal so there are no sight lines through the cracks.

There is no install manual for this product because there is nothing to install. The curtain is tool-free and attaches entirely by magnets, so there is no drilling and no hardware left behind when you take it down.

How it goes up

Open both rear doors.
Click the large felt-backed magnets onto the door metal. The curtain corners hook onto these.
Work the small magnets down the full length of the door edge so the curtain sits flush with no gaps.
Attach the interior points on both sides so nobody can see through the cracks along the sides of the opening.

What goes wrong (and how to avoid it)

The magnets need bare metal. If your door interiors are fully covered by panels, trim, or door storage that hides the metal where the curtain attaches, it will not hold. Check your doors before ordering. A quick test: a fridge magnet should stick where the curtain mounts. Not sure? Reach out to our team.

Keep grit off the magnets. The felt protects your paint, but sand or grit trapped under a magnet can still scratch. Wipe the magnets and the door surface before attaching, especially after a beach day.

Dry before stowing. Let the curtain dry out before you pack it away so it doesn't sit wet in the van.

Choosing a Rear Door Shower Curtain: What Actually Matters

Most rear door shower curtains look alike in photos. The differences show up the first time you rinse off at a busy trailhead. Here are the questions we get most, in order.

1. Does it actually give you privacy from the side?

A flat curtain hung across the door opening only blocks the view from directly behind the van. Anyone standing off to the side can see in, and the taller your van, the bigger that gap gets. Lifted, AWD Sprinters on larger tires make this worse.

How to choose: open your rear doors and stand off to one side of the van at about a 45 degree angle. If you can see into the door opening, you want a curtain that wraps the sides, not a flat panel.

2. What's mounted on your rear doors?

Rear doors in most builds carry something: MOLLE panels, storage bags, fabric door trims, or wood finishes. A flat curtain leaves the doors outside the enclosure, so they take the spray every time you shower.

How to choose: if anything on or inside your rear doors shouldn't get wet, pick a design that encloses the door area so the doors sit outside the splash zone.

3. How does it attach?

Rear door curtains attach by magnets, suction, hooks, or a drilled-in rail. Drilled rails are permanent. Suction can let go when the surface is wet or dusty. Magnets are fast and leave no trace, but they need exposed steel to grab.

How to choose: run the fridge magnet test on your door where the curtain would mount. If it sticks, a magnetic curtain is the fastest and cleanest option. If your doors are fully paneled over, plan for a different mount or expose a strip of metal first.

4. Will it fit your Sprinter's model year?

Some rear door curtains are sold in separate versions for the 2007-2018 (NCV3) and 2019+ (VS30) Sprinter because they rely on specific door shapes or hardware. A curtain that attaches by magnet to exposed door metal is less sensitive to generation, but altered or custom rear doors can still be a problem.

How to choose: confirm your model year, check that your doors are stock, and check for exposed metal. If your doors have been modified, reach out before ordering.

5. Install, removal, and storage

You'll put this up and take it down every time you shower, so speed matters. Look for tool-free attachment, no permanent hardware, and something that packs small.

How to choose: if you shower often, skip anything that needs a rail installed or more than a minute to set up.

6. What's your water source?

A curtain handles privacy and spray. You still need water. Many builds run a rear shower port off the onboard water system, and some add a folding shower enclosure.

Does it fit Sprinter-based RVs like the Winnebago Revel or Storyteller Overland?
