Shade and rain cover in a couple of minutes, rolled away in a slim case when you drive.

The Fiamma F45s is a compact, crank-out awning in a black aluminum case. It mounts to any flat vertical surface, including our SV Sandbar Roof Rack, and rolls out to 8 ft 2 in of shade with built-in legs.

Fits: Any flat roof rack or flat vertical mounting surface, including the SV Sandbar Roof Rack on the Mercedes Sprinter. Not compatible: Factory roof rails without special adapters (we don't carry those adapters).

Product Details

Why we run the Fiamma F45s

A van gets small fast in the rain or the midday sun. The F45s adds an outdoor room on the side of the van and packs away into a slim case that sits tight to the roof rack. It's the awning we mount on our own Sandbar Roof Rack.

How it works

Hook the crank into the winch loop and roll the fabric out. Fold the legs down from the lead rail and either set them on the ground or hook them to the side of the van. Roll it back in and the case closes up for the road.

Picking a length

Match the awning to the length of your mounting surface. Fiamma recommends the 300 for a Sprinter 144 in, the 350 for a 170 in, and the 400 for a 170 in extended. All three project 8 ft 2 in.

The F45s mounts to a flat vertical surface with Fiamma's included wall bracket. On our Sandbar Roof Rack it bolts to the flat side of the rack. Plan on about 2 hours with a helper. Fiamma's installation manual covers each step.

Before you start

You need a flat vertical mounting surface. Factory roof rails need special adapters, which we don't carry.
Get a helper. The awning is long and weighs 50 to 60 lb.

Mistakes to avoid

Mounting to factory rails without adapters. It needs a flat surface.
Leaving it out in high wind. Roll it in when the wind picks up.
Rolling it up wet for long. Let the fabric dry before storing it for any length of time.
