The SV Hood Bug Deflector sticks to the front edge of your 2019+ Sprinter hood. Its aerodynamic lip uses the van's own airflow to lift bugs, pebbles and road debris up and over the hood, so your paint stays clean and chip-free.

Your hood's lower edge takes every hit

Look at the front of any high-mileage Sprinter: bugs smashed along the lower edge of the hood and paint chips where rocks hit. Very little lands on the top of the hood. That lower edge is where the damage happens, and it adds up fast.

How it works

As air flows over the deflector, its lip creates an air pocket in front of the hood. That pocket lifts bugs, rocks and small debris up and over the van instead of letting them hit the paint.

Proof on our own fleet

Brian runs one on his own van and we put them on our rentals. We've seen the difference on vans that don't have one: bug splatter and chipped paint right along that lower hood edge.

Looks like it belongs

The matte black profile ties into the Sprinter's black grille trim for a finished look. It pairs well with the Fender Flare Kit for full body protection.

One of the easiest installs you'll ever do: clean, peel, line up, press. About 5 minutes and no tools. There's no printed manual. Brian walks through the full install in the video below.

Mistakes to avoid

Skipping the alcohol wipe. Clean the hood edge with isopropyl alcohol on a clean rag (no metal shavings) so the tape bonds to paint, not grime.
Getting dirt on the tape. Keep the exposed tape clean while you peel the red liner.
Letting it touch down early. Bow the deflector off the hood until both ends are lined up, because once the 3M tape sticks it's in there.
Mounting it too low. The plastic should tuck just under the lip of the hood.
