COCO Van Walkthrough: How Everything Works in Your Sandy Vans Rental

Welcome to COCO, your Concrete Oasis for the trip ahead. We're so excited for you to experience everything this van has to offer.

Before you hit the road, watch the full walkthrough below. It covers every system in the van and shows you exactly how it all works. You'll also have a physical and digital user's manual in the van, so if you're looking for something specific later, the manual is the fastest way to find it.

Read This Before You Drive or Sleep

A few things matter more than everything else. Please read these before your first night.

  • Check under the bed before lowering it. The HappyJack bed will not stop if it hits something. Always stow the TV and close the pop up bench before lowering or raising the bed. Watch at 6:13
  • Latch the glass shower door before driving. Driving with it unlatched can break the door. There's a reminder next to the start button. Watch at 19:08
  • Lock the bed step fully open before stepping on it. If it's only halfway out, it can close under you. Watch at 15:48
  • Latch every drawer and stow loose items before driving. Listen for the click on each drawer, and take down the hanging bulbs.
  • Retract the awning in strong wind. Wind can seriously damage it. Watch at 25:53

Kitchen

  • 8:42 Drawer latches, sink cabinet (cleaning supplies, fill hose, small vacuum, water filter), water heater timer, trash, wireless charger, and USB and 110V outlets
  • 9:54 Pop up counter bench, fridge, induction cooktop (induction compatible cookware only), and microwave

Power System

  • 10:37 The electrical controller: lighting zones, water pump, Starlink, awning light, gray water dump valve, fridge, and tank heating pads
  • 12:04 Reading your battery level, solar input, and fresh and gray tank levels
  • 12:36 Three ways to charge the batteries: driving, solar, and shore power

  • 14:54 Main 12V shutoff and the inverter switch (turn the inverter on to use the outlets, cooktop, and microwave)

  • 25:53 Opening and closing the awning
  • 27:09 Remote auto start, high idle charging, taking over to drive, and the alarm

Quick Answers

Why won't the outlets, cooktop, or microwave work?

The inverter is probably off. Turn it on from the electrical bench or the controller. Watch at 14:54

Why is there no water at the sink?

Turn on the water pump from the electrical controller, and check the fresh tank level on the same screen. Watch at 10:37

How do I know the water tank is full?

Water will start spilling out under the van. That's the tank vent, and it's normal. Turn off the water and it will drip for a minute or two. Watch at 23:06

The sliding door won't close.

Use the interior pull handle we added. It's much easier than pushing the door closed, especially when you're parked on an angle. Watch at 3:59

The blinds won't stay up.

Give them a little jiggle or press firmly upward and they should hold.
