At Sandy Vans, we build adventure-ready vans and premium modular systems designed to elevate the utility, comfort, and style of off-road and overland vehicles. As part of our continued growth, we've acquired Solid Wood Worx (SWW) - now fully integrated into our operations as our in-house woodworking and fabrication division.
This means we now not only build the vans - we craft every drawer system, bed platform, and custom wood component that makes them feel like home on the road. If you're passionate about building with precision and want to be part of a hands-on, fast-growing team, we'd love to hear from you.
One of the best parts about being part of a growing company is that you get to wear many hats - your ideas matter, your contributions are seen, and you have the opportunity to make a real impact as we scale.
What You'll Do
As a CNC Operator on our night shift, you'll play a critical role in keeping our production line moving after hours - from CNC cutting to hands-on assembly. You'll help keep our build schedule on track while maintaining our standards for quality and precision.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CNC machinery to cut parts to precise specs
- Load and unload raw material (sheet stock, lumber) onto the CNC bed
- Set up and calibrate tooling, including bit changes and work holding
- Load and run cut programs, making minor adjustments as needed
- Perform basic machine maintenance, including clearing dust/debris and checking for wear
- Smooth and finish edges using routers, sanders, and hand tools
- Assist in testing, prototyping, and improving new product designs
- Track and organize CNC-cut parts from production
- Inspect first-run parts against specs before running a full batch
- Flag material defects or machine errors before they become wasted stock
- Follow lockout/tagout and dust collection procedures
- Log completed runs, downtime, or issues for the day shift
- Flag low material or stock levels for the next shift or ordering team
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of parts per build sheets and work orders
- Keep the shop organized and production-ready for the day shift team
What We're Looking For
- Experience with CNC machinery
- Woodworking or cabinetmaking experience is a plus
- Skilled with routers, sanders, table saws, drills, and other shop tools
- Focused on detail, safety, and build quality
- Comfortable working independently during night shift hours
- Some responsibilities include lifting up to 50lbs
- Organized, dependable, and driven to learn new skills
- Valid driver's license
