The REDARC Manager Alpha75 is a complete 12V battery management system. It delivers up to 75A of combined charge from vehicle (DC), shore (AC) and solar, and puts solar first to take load off your alternator. The included RedVision display and Smart Battery Monitor show state of charge, time remaining and current flow, on the screen or in the RedVision app.

Fits: universal, any van, RV, truck or trailer with a 12V house battery. Not compatible: 24V or 48V house battery systems.

Why we use the Manager Alpha

Most van electrical systems need a DC-DC charger, a solar controller, a shore charger and a battery monitor. The Manager Alpha75 does all four in one unit, which means fewer parts, less wiring and one screen to read. REDARC rates it up to 55% smaller and 28% lighter than comparable multi-part systems.

What the Alpha75 handles

Charge: up to 75A from any mix of alternator, solar and shore power

Protect the start battery: spare solar tops it up, and recovery mode helps if it goes flat

Mistakes to avoid

Mounting in the engine bay. The main unit, monitor and display are rated for indoor living areas only.
Long battery runs. Keep the main unit within 6 ft 7 in of cable from the house battery.
Blocking airflow. Leave 0.4 in at the sides and 1.6 in at each end, or 4 in all around in an enclosed space with venting.
Using adhesive or skipping mounting points. Use all six mounting points with screws.
Undersized cable or fuses. At 75A REDARC lists a 100A house battery fuse and a 125A start battery fuse, mounted within 6 in of each battery. Check the cable table in the manual for your run length.

How to choose a battery management system

1. What voltage is your house battery?

How to choose: The Manager Alpha is for 12V house systems.

2. How much charging do you need?

How to choose: Match output to your battery bank and daily use. The Alpha75 covers most single-battery van builds; larger lithium banks or heavy loads point to the Alpha100.

3. Which charge sources will you use?

How to choose: If you'll charge from the alternator, solar and shore power, an all-in-one unit replaces three chargers.

4. How do you want to monitor it?

How to choose: A shunt-based monitor gives real state of charge. The Alpha75 includes a Smart Battery Monitor, a RedVision display and app access.

5. Where will it mount?

Can it charge from solar, the alternator and shore power at once?

Yes. It combines all three for up to 75A and puts solar first, which takes load off your alternator.

Does it work with lithium batteries?

Yes. It has standard and heated lithium profiles plus AGM, gel, calcium and standard lead acid. Only use the heated lithium profile on batteries with a working heater.

Will it work with a smart alternator?

Yes. The Manager Alpha has a vehicle ignition input for vans with smart alternators, as covered in REDARC's manual.

What's the solar input limit?

9 to 48V DC. Size your array so its voltage stays under 48V at the coldest temperature it will see, or the unit can be damaged.

Where can I mount it?

Inside the living area of the van, never in the engine bay. Keep it within 6 ft 7 in of cable from the house battery, leave room for airflow, and use all six mounting points.

What's the difference between the Alpha75 and Alpha100?

Charging output. The Alpha75 delivers up to 75A, the Alpha100 up to 100A. Pick the Alpha100 for larger lithium banks or heavy daily loads.
