A rack-mount spare tire bracket for any setup. Bolt it to your existing rear rack, hang your spare using its own factory lug bolts, and you're done. The bracket mounts via 3/8" hardware — line up with holes already in your rack, or drill new ones wherever you want the spare to live.

  • Bolt-on for SV Port Rack, SV Starboard Rack, and SV Spare Tire Rack — no drilling required on SV racks
  • Factory Sprinter bolt pattern: 6×130mm (SRW) — other patterns also fit; email products@sandyvans.com if not on stock Sprinter wheels
  • Heavy-duty steel, powder-coated black
  • All mounting hardware included — 3/8"-16 bolts, lock nuts, and washers
  • Bracket weight: 11 lbs
  • Does not fit dually tires (DRW 3500XD)

Product Details

The classic overlander problem: great rear rack, no dedicated way to carry a spare. Strap it to the roof and you eat clearance. Toss it inside and you lose floor space. The SV Spare Tire Bracket gives it a permanent home off the back of your van — accessible, out of the way, and ready to swap on the trail.

This is a bracket, not a complete system. You bring the rack, you choose the position, you decide where the spare lives. On the SV Port Rack, SV Starboard Rack, and SV Spare Tire Rack it drops in without drilling — the keyhole slots give you adjustment room before you commit. On any other rear rack, the 3/8" bolt pattern either lines up with existing holes or you drill new ones where you want them.

Your spare mounts to the bracket face using its own factory lug bolts — no proprietary hardware, no adapters. The standard factory Sprinter bolt pattern is 6×130mm (SRW), and the bracket also accommodates other common lug patterns. If you’re running an aftermarket or upgraded wheel, email products@sandyvans.com before ordering and we’ll confirm your specific fitment.

Heavy-duty powder-coated steel. 11 lbs. All mounting hardware in the box.

Three steps, about 30 minutes. Everything you need is in the box — just bring a 9/16" socket and wrench.

Start by choosing your position on the rack. On the SV Port Rack, SV Starboard Rack, and SV Spare Tire Rack, the keyhole slots let you slide the bracket into position without drilling — figure out where you want the spare to hang (consider door swing, rear camera clearance, and hitch access), then mark your final position. On any other rack, mark your drill points and confirm clearance on both sides before committing.

Run the six included 3/8"-16 bolts through the rack and bracket feet — washer under the bolt head, washer between the bracket foot and the lock nut. Three bolts per foot. Work from both sides with the socket and wrench until snug.

Hang your spare using your wheel's own factory lug bolts. No extra hardware needed for the tire itself.

Inspect mounting hardware after your first off-road run and periodically after that — vibration can work bolts loose over time. This bracket is designed for trail use and off-road transport; it is not rated as a permanent on-road spare tire carrier.

Tools You'll Need

How to Choose a Spare Tire Bracket

1. Do you already have a rear rack?

This is a bracket, not a complete spare tire system. A rear rack is a prerequisite. If you’re already running the SV Port Rack, SV Starboard Rack, or SV Spare Tire Rack, you’re set — the bracket bolts straight to the existing keyhole slots. If you’re running a different rear rack, you can either match existing hole locations or drill new ones. No rear rack at all means starting there first.

2. Does your wheel bolt pattern fit?

The factory Mercedes Sprinter bolt pattern is 6×130mm (SRW). The bracket also supports other common lug patterns, so it’s not limited to stock Sprinter wheels. If you’re running a non-stock or upgraded wheel, email products@sandyvans.com before ordering and share your bolt pattern. We’ll confirm fit before you purchase.

3. Where do you want the spare positioned?

The bracket can go anywhere along your rack that gives you solid mounting points. Plan position before drilling anything: think about rear door swing (the spare needs to clear when doors are open), rear camera and sensor clearance, hitch access, and whether you’re mounting port or starboard. Centering the tire is common; offset positions work too depending on your door configuration.

4. Are you running a dually?

The SV Spare Tire Bracket is not compatible with dually tires (DRW 3500XD). If you’re on a dually, reach out and we’ll point you toward the right solution.

Pre-Order Checklist

  • I have a rear rack to bolt this to
  • My tire is not a dually (DRW 3500XD)
  • I’ve confirmed my wheel bolt pattern (if running non-stock wheels — email products@sandyvans.com)
  • I have a 9/16" socket and wrench
  • If drilling a non-SV rack: I have a drill and appropriate bit
What racks does this bracket work with?
The SV Spare Tire Bracket mounts to any rear rack using the included 3/8" hardware. On the SV Port Rack, SV Starboard Rack, and SV Spare Tire Rack it drops right in — the keyhole slots let you adjust placement without committing to a drill hole. For any other rack, you can match existing holes or drill new ones to the bracket's bolt pattern. If you're unsure whether your rack is compatible, email products@sandyvans.com before ordering.
What wheel bolt patterns does the bracket fit?
The factory Mercedes Sprinter bolt pattern is 6×130mm (SRW). The bracket also supports other common lug patterns, so it's not limited to stock Sprinter wheels. If you're running an aftermarket wheel or a non-Sprinter chassis tire, email products@sandyvans.com with your bolt pattern and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.
Does this fit dually tires?
No. The SV Spare Tire Bracket is not compatible with dually tires (DRW 3500XD). If you have a dually and need a spare tire solution, call (619) 812-1903 or email products@sandyvans.com and we'll help you find the right option.
Does the bracket come with a rack?
No — this is the bracket only. You'll need a rear rack to bolt it to. It installs on the SV Port Rack and SV Starboard Rack without drilling. If you don't have a rear rack yet, check out those options separately.
What tools do I need to install it?
A 9/16" socket, socket wrench, and 9/16" wrench. That's it for the SV Port and Starboard Racks. If you're drilling new holes in a different rack, add a drill and the appropriate bit for your rack material.
